With crazy trends like chicken nugget yoga, rage yoga, and even naked yoga, hitting the news, it seems like everywhere you look, someone is talking about taking the latest and greatest twist on the traditional yoga practice.
Although we don’t have any of these classes in the Bradenton area yet (sorry folks!), we do have a pretty cool local yoga scene. Whether you’re an experienced yogi or an absolute beginner, you’ll love these six awesome yoga experiences in Bradenton.
Beach Yoga: Anna Maria Island
When you’re lucky enough to live in paradise, you owe it to yourself to enjoy it as often as possible. Taking your yoga practice out onto the beach is one of the absolute best ways to calm your mind, nurture your soul, and re-establish your connection with nature.
Nestled into a quiet spot at the north end of Anna Maria Island, Thrive Beach Yoga is the perfect way to start your day. Classes are held year-round (weather permitting) on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. These classes are donation-based and beginner-friendly.
Wear comfortable clothing, bring a sheet or large towel, and a bottle of water. You can learn more about Thrive’s beach yoga classes and keep up with any changes by following Thrive Beach Yoga on Facebook.
Goat Yoga: Parrish
What do you get when you combine an all-levels yoga class with a bunch of silly and mischievous goats? A hilariously fun experience you won’t soon forget! Practicing yoga in the presence of goats is a great way to release stress and decompress from the pressures of daily life.
This trend is currently sweeping the nation, and we’re lucky enough to have class offerings close by! My Tranquility Farm in Parrish offers hour-long classes followed by 30 minutes for playtime and photo sessions. Classes are held every Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $20 and must be purchased ahead of time. Follow My Tranquility Farm on Facebook to keep up with the latest news and events.
Aerial Yoga: Bradenton and Sarasota
Aerial yoga classes give you the opportunity to take your practice above the mat, get a great workout, and experience the thrill of flying. During the class, you’ll hop into a silk hammock and use it to support you as you stretch and hold poses like backbends and headstands. You’ll also practice flips and tricks and end the class by cocooning yourself up for the final Savasana.
Aerial yoga classes are offered at several local studios including Beyond the Mat, Circusoul Yoga, and Heartwood Retreat Center. Check each studio’s website for more information about class times and prices.
Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga: Anna Maria Island and Bradenton
Soak in the sunshine and salty air during a fun and challenging Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga class. Although it might look intimidating, these classes are actually accessible to most people. The boards are wider and more stable than you might think, and it’s surprisingly easy to get up and balance once you get the hang of it.
Salty Buddha offers SUP yoga classes launching from Anna Maria Island and Robinson Preserve in Northwest Bradenton. They also ooffer private lessons. Follow Salty Buddha on Facebook to keep up with everything they have going on!
Beer Garden Yoga: Bradenton
Nothing helps you keep that post-yoga blissed-out feeling like indulging in a great beer after you’re done. Hosted by Salty Buddha and held at one of our favorite local watering holes, you won’t want to miss Beer Garden Yoga at Motorworks Brewery.
Your $10 ticket includes an hour-long all-levels yoga class and a pint of beer! Classes are held on Tuesday nights at 7:45 p.m. Bring your own mat and a bottle of water and plan to stick around for a while after class is done so you can vibe with other members of the local yoga community.

Wow! The last one sounds really amazing, with a view over water. I know in the first place it’s all about the food, but I love to eat in such amazing places with that kind of view. If I’m ever around I most definitely will visit that one.
The Anna Marie Oyster Bar is a must for every visitor for any meal. The atmosphere is perfect for the location and the food is delicious.
I enjoy yoga and I’m loving all the new types that are popping up! I think beer yoga is right up my alley. And honestly, I’d try naked yoga too!
These are so good! And love the goat pic haha so fun! I can’t for warmer weather for more outdoor activities like this!
