Local Artist Offers New Classes in Northwest Bradenton

Local artist Chris MacCormack is now offering a range of classes in Northwest Bradenton including painting, Spanish, and succulent arrangement. Click to learn more!

Chris MacCormack, owner of ArtbyCMac, has been a Bradenton resident for the past 20 years. Since moving here, the retired Spanish and English as a Second Language teacher began exploring her love of art and her desire to share painted images of the many beautiful places she has visited over her lifetime. More recently, she discovered a passion for growing succulents and using them to make beautiful arrangements.

Now, she looks forward to sharing her many talents with the local community.

Beginning on October 1st, Chris is offering a wide variety of classes to the public. This includes:

>> Water color, acrylic and silk painting classes
>> Gyotaku fish printing
>> Spanish courses
>> DIY succulent arrangement classes

Currently, all classes are limited to 2 to 4 students to ensure everyone gets ample individual attention and to allow for social distancing.

No previous experience is required for beginner-level classes, and children over 12 are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Check out her Courses Page for more informaiton or to register for a class. If you prefer, you can also give her a call at 941-757-7557.

Monthly Carport and Succulent Sales

Chris grows a variety of succulents in her registered nursery and also purchases other mature and unusual succulents from wholesale nurseries so she can offer a wide variety of species to the Bradenton community. Her artistic talents have helped her make beautiful succulent dishes and large pedestal centerpieces with repurposed ceramics from thrift stores. Being frugal helps keep the expenses low, which translates into very affordable prices. Many of her potted succulents are available for just $1 to $3 and arrangements in ceramic containers start at $5 to $8.

She offers matted prints, original paintings and framed artwork featuring scenes like Florida beaches, flowers, or original paintings of Mexico or Thailand. You’ll also find a selection of silk paintings and gyotaku fish paintings for sale.

You can shop for both painted artwork and beautiful succulents during the monthly carport sales held at Chris’s yellow Chateau located in Northwest Bradenton. They’re typically held on the first Friday and Saturday of each month from 8 am until 2 pm.

Since the dates and times can vary, it’s best to check out her Events Page to confirm before you head out. You’ll also want to follow her on Facebook to keep up with all the latest news and announcements.

If you sign up for a class or visit her carport sale (and we hope you will!) be sure to tell her you heard about it on Discover Bradenton!

I love your monthly carport displays – always something new in displaying succulents. I’ll look for the list of your classes – you never run out of new ideas. Thanks.
