Clear your calendar for the first Saturday in April. BAM!Fest, the Bradenton Art & Music Festival, takes over the Riverwalk on April 3, 2027, and it's free all day. This is the big one Realize Bradenton builds the spring around.
If you've been before, you know the drill: you don't so much attend BAM!Fest as wander through it. Live bands, painters working on giant canvases, food trucks, a makers' market, and the odd stilt walker all spread out along the water. If you haven't been, this is the year to fix that.
Here's how to do it right.
The basics
BAM!Fest runs Saturday, April 3, 2027, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It stretches along the Bradenton Riverwalk between the Green Bridge and the DeSoto Bridge. Close to a mile end to end. Admission is free, and it's a rain-or-shine event, so it only calls off for genuinely severe weather.
You'll want most of the day for it. Eight hours sounds like a lot until you're three food trucks and two stages deep and realize you've missed half the festival.

What actually happens along the Riverwalk
BAM!Fest breaks the Riverwalk into activity zones, so there's always something a few steps away. Multiple stages run live music across genres all day. Artists build large-scale pieces out in the open, and you can usually add a few brush strokes to a community mural yourself.
Between the stages you'll find hands-on art projects, student performances, and pop-up performers who just show up mid-crowd. Stilt walkers, jugglers, and the occasional wandering fairy. The unscheduled stuff is often what people remember most.
The makers' market runs alongside it all, with local vendors selling art and handmade goods. Come with a little cash and a bag to carry what you buy.

Food, drinks, and the 21+ rules
Local food trucks and vendors are stationed up and down the festival, so plan to eat there rather than beforehand. There's a real spread, and you won't go hungry walking a mile of it.
If you're drinking, bring your ID. You have to be 21 to buy alcohol, they check, and last call is 6:30 p.m. Leave your own bottles at home; outside alcohol isn't allowed.
Getting there and parking
Driving is easy if you plan the parking. Three downtown garages offer free parking on Saturdays, and each one has signs pointing you to the Riverwalk:
City Centre Garage: under a 5-minute walk
Manatee County Garage: about a 5-minute walk
Judicial Center Garage: about a 10-minute walk
Taking a ride-share instead? Have your driver drop you at the Manatee Performing Arts Center or the Riverwalk parking lot. Accessible parking is available in all three garages, and there's accessible Riverwalk access near Corwins Ice Cream at 1000 Barcarrota Blvd.

Know before you go
A few things worth sorting out before Saturday morning:
Bring a blanket or chairs, a bag for anything you buy, and your ID if you plan to drink.
Dogs are technically allowed, but skip it. It's loud and packed, and it's a long, busy day for a pet.
Wear comfortable shoes and sun protection. You'll be on your feet and outside for hours.
Rain? The show goes on. Only severe weather cancels it.
