Tucked away on Cortez Rd. West in Bradenton, Pesto Bistro and Wine Bar is one of those hidden gems you've probably driven by hundreds of times. But if you haven't made the stop, you're definitely missing out.
This Italian, French, and Mediterranean-influenced restaurant has been open since September and it's creating quite a buzz among Bradenton locals. Pesto offers diners a cozy, elegant experience as well as a more casual atmosphere on the outdoor patio.
The menu features a variety of delicious items created by owner and chef Joe Rimer. Joe, who is a Bradenton native and graduate of Bayshore High School, loves having access to fresh, local seafood. He often uses it to create incredible specials, like the Crab-Stuffed Pompano with Squid Ink Linguini (pictured below).
Joe and his co-owner and wife Lianne Rimer are thankful for the tremendous amount of support they've received from the local community since their opening. They say this one of the things that has made the frustrations of the pandemic much more bearable.
In addition to lunch and dinner service, Pesto has also had great success with their live entertainment. They have live music on the patio every Sunday evening and acoustical guitar music indoors on Thursday evenings.
They also host Hospitality Nights every Tuesday and offer special featured wines each week for their Wine Down Wednesdays.
The restaurant has a bar, wine room, and a spacious main dining room. It's the perfect venue for special dinners, corporate events, family reunions, wedding rehearsals, and more!
