Why the markets are seasonal here
Most Manatee County markets run October through May, then pause for the summer. It's the opposite of what you'd expect up north, and it comes down to our weather. Vendors and shoppers both melt on a July afternoon, so the season lines up with the months you'll actually want to shop outside.
So, if your favorite market went quiet over the summer, there's a good chance it's coming back right about now.

Bradenton Public Market (downtown, on Old Main)
The Bradenton Public Market runs Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., October through May, on Old Main Street downtown. This season it opens October 3, 2026, and runs through late May. Admission is free, and it's the one most locals mean when they say "the Bradenton farmers market."
Run by the nonprofit Realize Bradenton, it's more than produce. You'll find local farmers, artists, makers, food, and live music. It's the anchor of the downtown weekend.
Where to park: Old Main has street parking, and three downtown garages: City Centre, Manatee County, and Judicial Center offer free parking on Saturdays. All of them are a short walk from the market.

The Anna Maria Island markets
The island runs two different markets, on two different days, so you've got options out west.
Coquina Beach Market is the big one. It's open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Coquina Beach, 1800 Gulf Dr S in Bradenton Beach. You get a market and the Gulf in one trip, which is hard to beat. It runs October through June, one of the longest seasons of the bunch.
The Anna Maria Community Farmers Market is the smaller, local-first one. It runs every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., October through April, at Roser Church, 512 Pine Ave. A group effort from The Center of Anna Maria Island, Roser Church, and DBTB Juice Bar & Bakery, it leans local and includes produce, baked goods, coffee, fresh juices, art, and handmade goods.
Main Street Market at Lakewood Ranch
Out east, the Main Street Market at Lakewood Ranch runs one Saturday a month, October through April, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's at 8100 Lakewood Main Street, with free parking and free admission. This season, it starts October 10 and continues November 14, December 12, January 9, February 6, March 13, and April 3.
Because it's monthly rather than weekly, it plays more like a mini-festival than a produce run. Expect makers, food, art, plants, candles, and pet treats, with the crowd to match. Mark the dates so you don't miss one.

Mixon Farms Market (east Bradenton)
Mixon Farms Market is the county's newest weekly market, and it's a good one. It runs every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., September 27, 2026 through May 30, 2027, at the former Mixon Fruit Farms property, 2525 27th St E.
Manatee County took over the old farm and turned it into a public market, so it comes with a little local history alongside the produce and vendors. A weekly Sunday market gives you a reason to swing east.
Waypoint Artisan Market (Palmetto)
North of the river, the Waypoint Artisan Market runs the second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., October through May. It's held at Waypoint Bar & Grill, 11000 US Hwy 41 N in Palmetto, and it opens October 10.
This one leans toward crafts and makers more than produce, so come for the handmade goods and stay for lunch. And if you're wondering about the old North River Community Market at the Palmetto Marriott, it's closed. Waypoint is Palmetto's market to know now.
