There are many nonprofit organizations in Bradenton and the surrounding area. Each one is doing incredible work to support our community by helping those less fortunate, promoting the arts, providing education, and more.

During our nonprofit spotlight series, we'll highlight information about a different local nonprofit each week. This week, we were thrilled to chat with ASI Vet Corp to learn more about their mission and how we can help. Here's what they had to say.

Can you tell us a little about your mission and how you help support our community?

Our veterans have risked their lives for our country, yet too many return home to minimum-wage jobs with limited opportunities for advancement. At ASI Vet Corp, our mission is to change that.

We provide means-based technical training in cutting-edge fields such as automation, artificial intelligence, systems integration, and other advanced development tools - helping veterans prepare for high-paying technology careers without the need for imported labor or work visas.

Through our unique partnership programs, companies can help sponsor training, upskill their own teams, and hire skilled veterans ready to contribute to the modern workforce.

Who do you serve and why?

We serve veterans and disabled veterans - men and women who have already given so much and deserve a fair chance at building strong, sustainable careers. Our goal is to equip them with the skills and confidence to thrive in high-tech industries and move into leadership roles where their discipline and determination can truly shine.

What are some of your key programs?

ASI Vet Corp offers several targeted training paths designed to prepare participants for in-demand positions:

  • Basics in Programming 102 – A hands-on introduction using Visual Studio and HTML coding.

  • Automation Anywhere Citizen Developers – Learn to create robotic process automations that streamline corporate tasks.

  • Automation Anywhere Administration – Training on user creation, scheduling, and robot management.

  • Microsoft SQL Server Administration 101 – Instruction in installation, configuration, management, and backup processes.

Each program is built with practical, real-world application in mind—bridging the gap between service experience and civilian technology careers.

What’s the best way for the community to help?

There are three main ways to get involved:

  • Sponsor a Veteran – Fund the full training of a veteran in need.

  • Train Your Team, Train a Veteran – For every employee a company trains using ASI Vet Corp’s facilities and instructors, one veteran receives training at no cost.

  • Hire a Veteran – Partner organizations can employ ASI Vet Corp graduates and, in turn, contribute a tax-deductible donation to support ongoing training and recruitment.

By partnering with ASI Vet Corp, local businesses strengthen their own workforce and help veterans build a new future.

Is there anything else you’d like us to know?

"This is my passion," says Shary. "I’ve always wanted to see our veterans come first—before we import workers from halfway around the world. After more than 30 years in this field, I want to pass on what I’ve learned and help the next generation succeed."
