There are many nonprofit organizations in Bradenton and the surrounding area. Each one is doing incredible work to support our community by helping those less fortunate, promoting the arts, providing education, and more.
During our nonprofit spotlight series, we'll highlight information about a different local nonprofit each week. This week, we were thrilled to chat with the State College of Florida Foundation to learn more about their mission and how we can help. Here's what they had to say.
Can you tell us a little bit about your mission and how you help to support our community?
The State College of Florida Foundation connects donors’ passions and regional partners with State College of Florida’s outstanding students, faculty, programs, and community. We also steward foundation assets consistent with our donors’ intent.
We aspire to double our endowment, allowing us to remove the financial obstacles for all deserving students who want to improve their lives with a State College of Florida education. In addition, we aim to contribute to the vitality of our community and to expand innovative, academic enhancements of the college so that it can be the best educational experience in the region.
Who do you serve and why?
We serve our students by providing scholarship opportunities to ensure access to all who desire to pursue higher education. We also fundraise to better equip the College's classrooms and support faculty development.
You have a few exciting fundraisers coming up - can you tell us a bit about them?
Avenues to the Future will be held on our Bradenton Campus on Feb. 18, 2023. This will be a fun opportunity to support our mission while enjoying specialty cocktails, a delicious surf & turf dinner, an open bar, and much more. During the event, you can mix and mingle with friends old and new. The SCF Presidential String Quartet and Presidential Jazz Ensemble will serenade guests as they stroll the beautifully lit Avenues of the Bradenton campus, and there will even be dueling pianos! |
