Adobe Kava

Adobe Kava has been a fixture in Bradenton's Village of the Arts since 2019, when founder Andy Schroeder and his family set out to build something Bradenton didn't have yet: a fully outdoor, alcohol-free bar built around community instead of alcohol.

Every drink on the menu is non-alcoholic. Kava, kratom, botanical teas, coffee roasted locally by Banyan Coffee Co., kombucha, and a rotating list of craft and bottled drinks take the place of a traditional bar menu, poured by "kavatenders" who each curate their own Spotify playlist behind the bar. Wilder's Pizza handles the food side, with pizza, calzones, strombolis, handhelds, pasta, wings, salads, and desserts available on-site.

The space itself is built for lingering. Regulars show up with laptops during the day, claim a seat by one of the firepits, and stay well past sunset for whatever's happening that night, because something is happening every night. 4.9-star reviewers keep coming back for it.

Here's the weekly lineup:

  • Monday: Tea Tavern, Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, 7 p.m.

  • Tuesday: Game Night, board games or bring your own, video games welcome, 7 p.m.

  • Wednesday: Movie Night, the film is picked by Instagram poll, starts 8:30 p.m.

  • Thursday: Bar Sessions with Gratitune and DVZeglo, live EDM paired with psychedelic visuals, 8 p.m.

  • Friday: Acoustic Sessions, a rotating lineup of local acoustic artists, 8 p.m.

  • Saturday: Spin Saturday, fire spinning, flow props, and a live DJ, 9 p.m.

  • Sunday: Open Mic Night, poetry, music, comedy, whatever someone brings to the mic.

Every second Sunday at 5 p.m. brings a Dance Lab, and on the first Friday and Saturday of each month, Adobe partners with Birdrock Taco Shack to host the 13th and 13th Art Market during the Village of the Arts monthly art walk.

Kids are welcome with a parent, leashed dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, and there's no age cutoff after dark since nothing on the menu requires one. Open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., at 1302 13th Ave W in Bradenton's Village of the Arts.

Adobe Kava has such a relaxed vibe. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. It seems like there's always something cool going on there, and everyone I've met has been so nice! If you haven't visited, you're definitely missing out!
