Carol Lipp is an expert life-long quilter and an awesome fun instructor. Carol describes below what you will learn and create in this 3-day “Quilting Together” workshop, which is scheduled as three sessions one-day per week over the course of three weeks. Each class is three hours in duration. Carol says: I have been piecing and quilting for more than 30 years. One fact I am very happy to say is … I have NEVER owned a blanket! Sounds weird, but so true. Most all the women in my family were quilters at one time or another, grandmothers, great grands, Mom along with six aunts and many cousins of my generation. I love “gifting” quilts! Whether you are a Novice or an Expert, we will have fun with this “go-to” pattern for many quilters: The pattern is called “A Trip Around the World”. This pattern is traditionally made from many squares and it will appear when it is finished that we traveled the world … but a major shortcut is in our future! We will have three classes altogether, at the rate of one three-hour class per week. You will have plenty of time time between classes to complete assignments. Villa Serena has two cutting mats to share as well as a couple rulers and six sewing machines on site. You may reserve a machine on first come, first promised basis — after booking the workshop, you may send your request to reserve a machine to villaserenaclasses@gmail.com Prior to the workshop you will decide on which size quilt you wish to create. My recommendations are to chose one of the following: Baby: 45”x56” If you are an experienced quilter who wishes to create a King piece, please call me at 941-705-1043 Fabric quantities, fabric preparation instructions, color guidance, and more details will be provided in an email that you will receive when you have booked the workshop — we don’t have enough room here on the booking site to provide all the details. But in summary, here’s what you’ll need when you arrive for the first class: 1. Your fabric! One way to think about your selections of colors is to begin with the lightest and progressively increase to #6 being the darkest color. I look forward to Quilting Together with you!
