Event Details
The history of the partnership between the Club and the Boy Scouts of America dates back to at least 1927 with the opening of the first summer camp program at Camp Flying Eagle. Later on in the 1940s, a health camp was held on the property. Funding for a number of projects at the camp includes: rifle range, campsites, canoe basins, cabins, and the dining hall which was constructed in the early 1960s.
As of January 1st, Mr. Charles Vonderheid is the new Senior Executive for the Southwest Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Vonderheid has been invited to share his vision for the council.
On the evening of March 8, you are invited to attend a reception in the dining hall at Camp Flying Eagle (16009 Upper Manatee River Road) along with a short tour of the property. Look for details as we get closer to the date.
