DBTB Juice Bar & Bakery: Anna Maria Island's Hidden Gem

DBTB Juice Bar & Bakery is a scratch-made, organic juice bar and bakery tucked inside The Center of Anna Maria Island.

There's something fun about finding a place no one told you about. The kind of spot that's not showing up in tourist brochures or on some "top 10" list--but once you go, you find yourself telling everyone else about it.

DBTB Juice Bar & Bakery is exactly that kind of place.

You won't see a sign off Gulf Drive pointing you in the right direction. It's actually inside The Center of Anna Maria Island, a local nonprofit tucked away on Magnolia Ave. From the outside, it looks more like a rec center than anything else. But inside, just past the front doors, is one of the island's best-kept secrets: a fully scratch-made juice bar and bakery that was built for locals, by locals.

At the heart of it are Dev and Ted, Bradenton natives with a shared passion for good food and community. Devinne started her first business, Devs Bevs, after helping her mom beat terminal cancer through juicing and clean eating. Ted is a chef and baker. Together, they've combined their talents into something honest, wholesome, and way better than anything you'll find in a grab-and-go case.

Real Food, No Shortcuts

Everything at DBTB is made from scratch with organic produce, flour, and coffee--no preservatives, no seed oils, no shortcuts. It's the kind of place where the banana bread actually tastes like bananas, the juice is cold-pressed and fresh, and the vibe is relaxed but intentional.

They're open a few days a week, and when they're not in the cafe, you'll probably find them at the farmers market--either on the island or downtown Bradenton.

Built from the Ground Up (and Rebuilt Again)

This isn't just a feel-good story about two people chasing their dream. It's also one about perseverance. Devinne launched her juice business during COVID, and just as things started picking up, the hurricanes hit--two in a row--wiping out their new space and nearly everything in it.

But instead of folding, they doubled down. They found new footing inside the Community Center, turned it into something even more meaningful, and never lost sight of the reason they started: to offer real, nourishing food with heart behind it.

Keeping It Local

Community has always been at the heart of DBTB Juice Bar & Bakery. Dev and Ted have built strong ties at The Center of Anna Maria Island, where their cafe shares space with a vibrant network of locals, events, and programs.

When hurricanes disrupted the area and the Center's annual farmers market faced cancellation, they stepped forward to keep it going. They took over the planning themselves, organizing the entire event to make sure small businesses and local farmers still had a place to gather.

Today, the market continues as a free, welcoming space thanks to their efforts. It's the same spirit you'll find at DBTB--genuine care for the community and a commitment to creating spaces where people can connect, grow, and thrive.

If you like supporting small, homegrown spots that are doing things right--quietly, consistently, and with a whole lot of heart--put this one on your list. Just don't be surprised if you start telling your friends about it, too.
