Kava Social Club is Coming to Downtown Bradenton!

If you’ve driven down Manatee Avenue in downtown Bradenton recently, you might have wondered about the tiki bar parked in the lot behind Oscura Cafe. This mobile unit, along with an indoor area that’s currently under construction, is a new tea concept that’s already taking the area by storm. Kava Social Club is Downtown Bradenton’s premier Kava Cafe.

If you’re wondering “What the heck is a Kava Cafe?” you’re not alone! While these bars and cafes are very popular in larger cities, it’s a fairly new concept here in Bradenton.

Kava is a beverage that’s made from piper methysticum, a plant that is native to the West Pacific Islands. It’s said to bring many physical and mental benefits including alleviating anxiety, reducing the symptoms of depression, improving sleep quality, reducing pain sensations, and providing immune support. It’s also said to help to relieve stress, relax your muscles, and reduce tension.

Kava is hailed as a healthier alternative to alcohol and caffeine since it creates feelings of euphoria and relaxation without affecting mental clarity.

In addition to Kava, the  venue will also serve beverages made of kratom. This herbal supplement is used for pain management, energy, and may even help with anxiety and depression. Not feeling super adventurous? That’s okay! They’ll also have cold brew coffee (regular and nitro) on tap and offer orange juice, pineapple juice, and lemonade.

The owners of Kava Social Club, Ryan Bodie and Sara Lewis, frequented Kava bars in St. Petersburg for many years before deciding to bring the concept to downtown Bradenton.

Sara, who was previously a pharmaceutical engineer and chemist, and Ryan, a film maker and production specialist, have used their scientific knowledge and experience with kava, kratom, and other elements to create an amazing drink menu that their guests are going to love.

Visitors can tempt their palates with concoctions like chocolate-covered strawberry flavored kava, a pina colada made with kratom, or even a frappe made with Summatra coffee, cold brew, kava, or kratam in flavors like peanut butter cup, malted caramel, or triple chai.

Ryan and Sara also have big plans for the venue itself. They’ve taken over the back half of Oscura Cafe and are building a cozy indoor bar and lounge. They’re also doing away with the parking spaces and turning the back lot into a 3,500 square-foot Kava Garden. This space will have seating, a stage for live music, and outdoor games like cornhole, ping pong, can jam, lawn darts, and more. There will also be plenty of board games for visitors to play while they relax and enjoy their drinks.

While it may still be a couple of months before the indoor construction is complete, the outdoor area should be done fairly soon. But — you can go visit them right now! The mobile tiki is parked in the lot and is currently open Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 pm.

Make sure to follow Kava Social on Facebook and Instagram so you can keep up with their latest news and announcements, including extended hours and a epic “pop-up party” that is coming soon.

Kava Social Club is located at 540 13th St W, Bradenton, FL 34205 (see map). When you stop by to see them, make sure you tell them you heard about it on Discover Bradenton!

I saw your Mobile Kava bar twice last week coming back to Parrish from an Appt At 27th St West and Manatee Ave. I was so pleased to find out you are setting up A social club to educate interested customers on the benefits of Kava and Kratom ????
Although I’ve never had the opportunity to try Kava,
I have been taking and educating myself and otherS about the benefits of Kratom for over 2 years. I stopped going to pain management for RX and take only Kratom for my chronic pain. Kratom Managed correctly can have huge Benefits for most pain and anxiety. I can’t wait to experience the taste and benefits of Kava and Kratom married together in a refreshing drink and socially discuss experiences.
