In honor of Manatee County’s heritage, the Manatee Village Historical Park will be participating in Manatee Heritage Days throughout the month of March. Activities such as tours of the historic buildings at Manatee Village and the 1850 Manatee Burying Ground will be the highlight of this event.
Each tour is amazing in a different way. The Manatee Village Site Tour is a unique way to travel back in time and experience Manatee County in its pioneering spirit of early settlers. Tours will be available on selected dates from February 28 – March 18, 2022, at 10 AM, and will be limited to only ten slots per tour.
The Cemetery Tours will let you explore the different facets of Manatee County’s history on a tour around the 1850 Manatee Burying Ground. Tours will be available on selected dates starting March 21–April 1, 2022, at 10 AM, and will be limited to only sixteen slots per tour.
All tours are FREE for everyone to experience, but take note that slots will be limited so reservations are required. To add uniqueness, each tour will have a different theme depending on the staff member assigned.
Make sure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear during the tours. All tours will take place outside during daylight and will include long periods of standing, listening, and walking on uneven ground with exposure to sunlight and rain. In case of rain, tours may be canceled. Rain dates will not be offered in event of a cancellation.
The Manatee Village Historical Park is located at 1404 Manatee Avenue East (State Road 64), Bradenton, Florida. Please be informed that the Burial Ground does not have pathways, so crossing a street and maneuvering two curbs is required to visit.
For reservations, you can visit Manatee Village Historical Park’s Events Page or give them a call at 941-749-7165.
