Downtown Bradenton has come a long way in recent years and is now a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike. Next time you head out for a downtown adventure, plan to make a stop at one of the area’s hottest destination restaurants – Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille.
This cozy restaurant and bar, located just behind the Bradenton Riverwalk skate park next to the Courtyard Mariott, features an open-air patio, nightly live music, and an incredible happy hour. It’s the perfect spot for spending a relaxing evening with family and friends.
Unique, Responsibly Sourced Menu
One of the most exciting things about Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille is its unique, responsibly sourced menu. Chef Paul Mattison designs every one of his menus to use the highest-quality ingredients including Niman Ranch beef, Freebird chicken, and produce sourced from local farmers. It’s important to the Mattison’s team that their produce is grown with minimal to no pesticides and all meat products come from sources that are humanely raised and antibiotic and hormone free.
The only thing better than the ingredients Mattison’s uses is the tastebud-tempting meals they create. Whether you’re looking for authentic brick oven pizza, sushi, or New Zealand rack of lamb, you’ll find it on the Mattison’s menu.
Incredible Happy Hour
Mattison’s Happy Hour is possibly one of the best in town. It runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day and features $3 well drinks, bottled beer, and house wine and $5 red or white sangria. They also choose a $5 “boat drink” and martini of the day.
In addition to the happy hour drink specials, Mattison’s Riverwalk also has a full liquor bar, cask wine on tap, and an extensive bottled wine list. They also have several craft beers on tap, which are only $3 on Mondays.
From 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the bar and bar tables you can also take advantage of an inexpensive “Bar Bites” menu featuring items like spicy tuna nachos, duck egg rolls, and shrimp tacos.
Sunday Brunch
If you love a killer brunch, you’ll want to hit up Mattison’s on Sundays from 11 a.m. until 3 pm. You’ll love the decadent menu items like Niman Ranch Steak and Eggs made with a petite filet, free-range eggs, and caramelized onions, or Stuffed French Toast filled with fruit cream cheese filling and topped with fresh berries and warm syrup.
In keeping with the locally sourced theme, Mattison’s also partners with Mixon Fruit Farm, serving their fresh-made orange or grapefruit juice either on its own or as an ingredient in their $5 mimosas. If Bloody Mary’s are more your style, don’t worry, those are also just $5 during brunch.
Live Music and Special Events
Mattison’s Riverwalk has live entertainment on the outdoor patio almost every night. They pull in a variety of popular bands spanning across many different musical genres.
On the 4th Sunday of every month from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Mattison’s partners with Realize Bradenton to host their monthly Bradenton Blues Brunch. This extremely popular event pulls in big-name blues performers including Kat Crosby Band, Bryan Lee, Steve Arvey, and RJ Howson. These brunches fill up quickly, so you’ll want to call ahead to reserve your table.
