Pineapple Kitchen’s Murder Mysteries: A Dinner Event to “Die” For!

Bradenton's Pineapple Kitchen has been hosting Murder Mystery Dinners for some time now, with themes ranging from an ill-fated cruise to a 1920's speakeasy.

We finally had a chance to attend one of the final Cruising for Murder dinners and it was an absolute blast from start to finish!

If you love the idea of dressing up in your most lavish costume and channeling your inner actor (or actress) then this dinner is definitely for you! Not quite sure about that, but like the idea of enjoying a delicious four-course meal and engaging in hilarious interactions as you try to figure out who “killed” one of your fellow guests? This event is perfect for you too!

What to Expect

About a week before the event, you’ll receive an email with your character name, a bit of background information, and some costume suggestions. You’re free to go all-out or adapt the concept in a way that makes you feel comfortable – but trust me when I say you won’t regret being a bit over the top!

You’ll also have a chance to choose your meal. There were three entrees for us to choose from as well as gluten-free options. Many of the dishes are made with Pineapple Kitchen’s products – like their Fruit Sauce, Peachy Bourbon Sauce, or Pineapple Salsa.

When you arrive, you’ll check in with the host and receive a card with more details about your character. Then it’s time to play! Sip on your welcome drink and mingle with the other guests. Be sure to pay attention to the things they say and the questions they ask – everything could be a clue!

As the dinner is served, the plot will start to unfold. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but get ready for some side-splitting, interactive fun!

Next Up: Dr. Pineapple’s Haunted Laboratory

Sadly, all but one of the Cruising for Murder dinners are sold out (you may be able to snag tickets to the last one HERE). But – there’s good news! Beginning on Friday, September 16th, there’s a whole new show in town and it’s one you won’t want to miss.

During Dr. Pineapple’s Haunted Laboratory, you’ll be transported back to the 1920s, somewhere in the Deep South. Here, Dr. Pineapple finds a secret entrance through a bookcase that leads him to his grandfather’s mysterious laboratory where he performed outlandish experiments.

You’ll join the rest of the guests as they travel through the bookcase and into a scene where everyone is a possible suspect in a ghoulish murder.

This hilarious dinner show is for guests age 21 and up and includes a 4-course southern-inspired meal and complimentary adult beverages. Each dinner has a 22-seat maximum, so they will sell out! If you want to make sure you don’t miss out, I recommend booking your tickets right away.

There’s also a family-friendly option coming soon. Beginning on Friday, October 14th, Pineapple Kitchen will be hosting Dr. Pineapple’s Spooky Laboratory Family Mystery Show, which is appropriate for kids ages 3 and up. In this show, the bookcase leads to a mysterious laboratory where Dr. Pineapple performs funny, outlandish experiments. The kids will be able to help him out as he recreates some of his grandfather’s most creepy creations. Both children and adults will be assigned characters and costumes, making this a fun adventure for the whole family.
