Bradenton’s Village of the Arts (VOTA) has no shortage of cool places to shop. From fine art and photography to unique decor and more, you can find it all here. The Village Mystic and Mystic Mines are two favorites among both locals and visitors — with good reason! If you’re looking for a unique and immersive experience you won’t find anywhere else, this is it!
According to owners Dawn Collins and Jeff Wheeler, The Village Mystic was created as “a beautiful, welcoming, and peaceful space to help people achieve all of their personal goals.” This “metaphysical oasis” carries a gorgeous selection of natural gemstone jewelry, crystals from around the world, greeting cards, clothing, body scents, smudge sticks, and home décor items. Almost all of the products carried at The Village Mystic are consciously and ethically sourced from like-minded visionaries.
A big part of what makes The Village Mystic so great is that it’s so much more than just a store! Owner Jeff is actually a Federally recognized Native American Shaman, Pipe Carrier for Three Nations, Reiki Master, Tibetan Reiki Master, and the area’s BEST Psychic Medium. He’s also the caretaker of two Ancient Dropa Crystal Skulls. These life-sized skulls are made of solid topaz. They come from a remote mountainous region in Mongolia and are between eight and twelve thousand years old. They’re revered for their healing properties and have been passed down from Shaman to Shaman throughout the years.
People travel from all over the state for a psychic reading and energy work with Shaman Jeff! You can book a healing session with the skulls and participate in a wide variety of other classes and events. Each Saturday they also offer a free class facilitated by Shaman Jeff as their way of giving back to the community.

Also located in The Village of the Arts, Mystic Mines is Southwest Florida’s largest gemstone mining adventure. People of all ages enjoy trying their hand at prospecting as they mine for crystals, gemstones, and more.
All the action takes place at their 40’ Gem Mine Flume where you’ll be given a bucket filled with all kinds of treasures. As the dirt washes away, the gemstones and fossils will be revealed. During your adventure, you might find quartz, amethyst, citrine, jasper, shark’s teeth, and fossils from around the world. Every bucket is different, and you never know what you’ll find!
