Is the hustle and bustle of the holiday season starting to get to you? We have the perfect solution!
Gather up the family and take a step back in time. The Manatee Village Historical Park is hosting an “Old Florida Christmas” celebration on Sunday, December 15th from 11 am until 4 pm. Every building in the park will be decorated with splendid Victorian and Florida pioneer inspired décor, and you’ll enjoy live performances by local organizations including The St. Pete Shanties (traditional maritime workers’ songs), Brian Milgate (acoustic folk/blues), Martha B. King Middle School’s Crusader Band Ensembles, Rowlett Academy’s Boys Choir, and Southeast High School’s Chamber Orchestra.
The event will also feature vendors with various handmade goods, free “make and take” seasonal crafts for adults and youth, and vintage silent holiday films. Food vendors will include the Kiwanis Club of North Manatee selling hamburgers and hot dogs, Kona Ice selling snow cones, and Stringer Produce selling farm-fresh salads. Other vendors will be selling treats as well.
The cost is just $5 per person, and children 12 and under are free. Tickets will be sold at the door. Each vendor will have their own pricing, and cash is appreciated.
Manatee Historical Park is located at 1404 Manatee Avenue East, (State Road 64), Bradenton, Florida, 34208. While you’re at the park, check out their other attractions including “Old Cabbage Head” locomotive, Junior Junction playground, museum exhibits, and the Whistle Stop Gift Shop. This promises to be a holiday tradition you won’t soon forget!
