The Coquina Beach Market is Back!

Coquina Beach Marketing Shopping Anna Maria Island

After taking some time away due to COVID-19 restrictions, we’re thrilled to report that the Coquina Beach Market is open once again! They’re taking extra precautions — like spreading out the vendor booths, using facemasks, and providing lots of hand sanitizer to ensure that everyone stays safe while enjoying their time shopping on the beach.

The market re-opened last week and the shoppers and vendors were both thrilled with the experience!

The internationally-famous Beach Market at Coquina Beach has been around for the last seven years. It started with just 20 vendors and has grown to as many as 150 vendors in season. During the summer, there are regularly 50 to 80 vendors.

There’s truly something for here everyone! You’ll find local artists, crafts, woodworking, yard art, metal art, tikis, furniture, photography, jewelry, home decor, gourmet food, produce, gift ideas, and a caricature artist. But that’s not all! There’s also apparel, footwear, hats, health and beauty items, souvenirs, collectibles, fishing equipment, natural plant fertilizer, and more!

There’s nothing quite like shopping for unique items from local vendors right on the beach! From the powdery white sand to the stunning backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico — it’s a great reminder that we truly are in paradise!

You’ll also love hearing the AMI String Band perform every Wednesday and Sunday from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm. While they previously strolled through the market, due to COVID-19, they’re now in a stationary spot with plenty of distance around them so you can relax and listen while still maintaining social distance.

While you’re on the beach, you can also grab some food and drinks from the Coquina Beach Cafe, relax in the picnic areas or pavilions, and even use the visitor charging stations.

You’ll find the vendors both east and west of the multi-purpose paved trail that runs north and south of the Coquina Beach Cafe. The summer season runs through July 29th. During this time, the market is open from 10 am to 4 pm every Wednesday and Sunday (excluding July 5th).

The market is closed August through October and will reopen on Sundays starting on November 1st and on Wednesdays starting on December 16th. It’s closed on major holidays, including Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Weekend, and July 4th weekend.

The free parking has reopened on Coquina Beach and there are approximately 1,600 available spaces. You shouldn’t have any problem parking on Wednesdays, but the lot fills up quickly on Sundays. Plan to arrive early and be patient while looking for a spot. You can also take the free trolly that will drop you off right on Coquina beach.

Unfortunately, Manatee County does not allow dogs anywhere at Coquina Beach Park, so please leave your furry friend at home.

I love going to the Beach Market at Coquina beach any time I’m in Florida. I enjoy strolling through all the venders, and seeing such a variety of goods to purchase. I don’t think I’ve ever attending the beach market without making a purchase. Some of my past purchases have been food, jewelry, and a beautiful butterfly cube. I’ve also enjoyed taking ‘first timers’ to enjoy the experience a day at the market. Looking forward to returning again in the future.
