Fav’s Italian Cucina: Come Hungry, Leave Feeling Like Family

At Fav’s Italian Cucina on Main Street, brother and sister Mike and Maria Favasuli have spent more than two decades serving classic Italian dishes in a place that feels like home.

Today I made a quick stop at Fav’s Italian Cucina on Main Street in Downtown Bradenton, and let me just say, this place is amazing.

Favs is truly a place where you can feel the family before you even sit down, it’s just that welcoming. It also has this… homey vibe to it? Stop in sometime, and you’ll know exactly what I mean.

Walking in, I immediately noticed something that filled me with so many emotions simultaneously — an old wedding photo right on the menu, the Favasuli family name everywhere, hand-painted signs (y’all know I’m a big fan of handwritten signs) and family photos on the walls.

In other words, little details that remind you this isn’t a restaurant built by a chain, it was built by people who poured their lives into it.

Brother and sister Mike and Maria Favasuli opened Fav’s back in 2000 after noticing downtown didn’t have a neighborhood pizzeria, and more than two decades later, they’re still serving some truly classic Italian dishes while supporting the same community that helped them get started.

I had the chance to meet Mike and his sister Maria, and they couldn’t have been more welcoming, even while making orders and greeting guests. True multitaskers if I’ve ever seen any.

Those are the kinds of interactions that stick with me. You can always find another pizza place, but you can’t always find another brother-sister combo that’s poured decades of hard work, tradition, and pride into one slice (pun absolutely intended, sue me) of downtown.

That’s why supporting local matters, y’all.

When a family business succeeds, Bradenton keeps a little more of its character. Its identity.

If you’ve never been to Fav’s, please make the trip. Tell Mike and Maria hello. They are always there and always so helpful.

Thank you guys for always being so kind to me, keep on rocking!
