Your logo is your company's identity. It should be everywhere. Whether it's on an indoor billboard, your sponsorship of Discover Bradenton, your company vehicle, business cards, promotional items, or the packaging you send out, your logo should be working for you 24/7.
Just as important as having a logo is making sure people can actually read it.
If it's not legible, it isn't working
One of my biggest pet peeves is seeing a business vehicle wrapped with beautiful graphics...but I have no idea who the company is because the lettering is impossible to read. Fancy script, dark colors on dark backgrounds, tiny fonts—it may look artistic, but if I can't read it while sitting next to you at a red light, you've missed an opportunity.
The same goes for business cards, name tags, stickers, banners, and promotional products. You have a very small window to capture someone's attention. Make it count.
Follow these tips any time you're branding your business:
- Keep your logo clean and legible.
- Choose colors with strong contrast.
- Use fonts that are easy to read.
- Include your website, phone number, or another simple way to contact you.
Don't miss the easy opportunities
Here's a real-life example... I once purchased a delicious gift from a fellow networker to give to one of my clients. It was beautifully packaged—but there wasn't a single logo, business name, website, or phone number anywhere on it.
I asked, "Why don't you have a sticker with your logo and contact information on the package?" What happens if my client loves it and wants to order more? Do you think they're going to call me weeks later to ask where it came from? It was something they hadn't even thought of.
People are busy. The easier you make it for them to find you, the more likely they are to become your next customer.
And don't forget—we have some amazing local printers right here in our community who can help you create professional business cards, stickers, labels, vehicle graphics, banners, packaging, and signage. So support local while building your brand.
Your logo isn't just artwork. It's your handshake, your first impression, and often the only thing someone remembers about your business. Make sure they can remember it.
A small design change can make a huge difference in whether someone
remembers your business or forgets it.
Your brand deserves to be seen—and remembered.
