Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare

Friends of Manatee County Animal Services is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which was formed to raise funds to enrich the lives of the Manatee County shelter animals while in the shelter waiting for fur-ever home. We have established several programs through which supporters can help: “Heal My Heart” which funds heartworm treatment for all dogs entering the shelter with heartworm disease.

Our “Grace & Friends Medical Fund” finances medical care for dogs and cats with serious, yet treatable health issues that will improve their chances of being adopted. We believe every dog in the shelter deserves to have a bed available for them to lay on therefore, we created our “Slumber Fund” from which we purchase Kuranda beds to get them off the concrete floor and up on a comfortable bed during their shelter stay.

Just recently, we have increased our programs to include the “Traveling Paws” program which funds transportation from our county shelter to northern rescues where the animals have a sometimes better opportunity for an adoptive home.

“We heal their hearts, treat their wounds, enrich their lives…..We are FoMCAW”

Finally a united group that will be the host our local Scottish Highland Games!! Many of us are looking forward to the inaugural event that will be held on Saturday Feb 10th at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto FL. A much larger venue than the Sarasota Fairgrounds!! I understand there will be a pipe band competition and a challenge between the Manatee County Sheriff's office and the EMT's in the actual Highland Games competition. See you in February!!

Once a PACE girl, always a PACE girl. Being part of PACE Center for Girls' first graduating class was transformative. PACE provided unwavering support during challenging times, boosting my confidence and helping me discover my true potential. The staff's personalized attention and encouragement were instrumental in overcoming obstacles and achieving academic success. PACE is more than an institution; it's a caring community that goes beyond academics. Thank you, PACE Center for Girls, for making a profound difference in my life.
