Recycled Reading Buddies

We believe in the power of books to transport us to places unknown. For this reason, Recycled Reading Buddies provides gifts to under-served children by taking previously-loved stuffies (plush characters) and pairing them with a gently used children’s storybook that has that character featured. We receive donated stuffies, launder and stitch them up when necessary, and after pairing them with donated books, we shrink wrap the pair and present them as a gift to young readers for the purpose of encouraging a life-long love of reading by providing someone to snuggle while being read to, or someone to read to when they are advanced enough to read alone.

We accept support from the community in the form of donated (gently used) stuffies, out-grown reading books, and hands-on help assembling the gifts. If you have a group of volunteers looking for a cause to which they might give their time – please consider hosting an assembly party. We’ll provide the stuffies, books, supplies and guidance; you provide the loving hands. Smiles and Giggles result.

Great organization in supporting the Celtic culture in the area. Provides scholarships for those that apply for the Celtic arts and athletics.

Finally a united group that will be the host our local Scottish Highland Games!! Many of us are looking forward to the inaugural event that will be held on Saturday Feb 10th at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto FL. A much larger venue than the Sarasota Fairgrounds!! I understand there will be a pipe band competition and a challenge between the Manatee County Sheriff's office and the EMT's in the actual Highland Games competition. See you in February!!

Once a PACE girl, always a PACE girl. Being part of PACE Center for Girls' first graduating class was transformative. PACE provided unwavering support during challenging times, boosting my confidence and helping me discover my true potential. The staff's personalized attention and encouragement were instrumental in overcoming obstacles and achieving academic success. PACE is more than an institution; it's a caring community that goes beyond academics. Thank you, PACE Center for Girls, for making a profound difference in my life.
