3 (More) Excellent Options for Breakfast in Bradenton!

Join us as we continue exploring some of the best places to enjoy breakfast in the Bradenton area.

Last week, we began highlighting some of the top breakfast restaurants in Bradenton (if you missed it, you can check it out here). While it was a great start, there are so many excellent options to choose from, we couldn’t stop at just three. So, we’re back to highlight a few more local breakfast hotspots that you won’t want to miss. Check it out!

1. Mulligans One-Co FL

You probably think this place is more of a bar than anything else, but their food is actually quite good. The service is friendly and their portions are generous. I have to admit that I didn’t stumble into this place by chance. My friends took me here and I thought they were crazy, but I was wrong.

There’s a whole section of the menu dedicated to “Mornin’ Fixins,” which are served between 10 am to 2 pm. From a large Two-Egg Omelet and Country Fried Steak to the Breakfast Burrito, Hashbrown Skillet or the Fat Boy and Fat Girl – you really can’t go wrong with most options.

The Fat Boy consists of two biscuits topped with gravy, hash browns and two eggs. The Fat Girl helps you keep your figure and is served with only one egg. Kind of makes sense, right? 😉

The place has a large bar area but it also offers several high top tables where you can enjoy your meal. You can also relax after breakfast and shoot a game of pool. A package store is on the side of the main room and convenient if you need to pick up some “supplies.” This place has it all.

Mulligans One-Co FL is located at 5526 15th St E, Bradenton, FL 34203 and they’re open Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 11 pm (closed Sundays). If you want to learn more, check out their Facebook page.

2. Oscura

Bradenton’s hub for artists and entrepreneurs brings you the perfect combination of food, music, and drinks. Their breakfast game is top of the list. Let’s start with an Espresso, Cappuccino, Cortado, Americano, or Latte – which are all skillfully brewed. Drip, Hot Brew, Cold Brew, and Coffee Soda varieties are all on the menu.

The breakfast food menu highlights their now infamous “Best of Bradenton” Avocado Toast. Other sandwiches include the Ricotta Toast and Egg Sando. Their Avocado Toast is served on grilled sourdough with avocado with pickled radish, charred scallion & Calabrian (Italian) chili oil, sumac, microgreens, and lemon zest. If that doesn’t make you hungry, you may enjoy an Egg Sando on a Cuban coca roll with egg, cheese, ham, pickled onion, and garlic aioli.

Lunch brings a few more options including a Hummus Sandwich on made-from-scratch focaccia bread with fresh turmeric hummus and pickled veggies, greens, and drizzled with vegan green goddess dressing; or a Wedge Salad with radicchio and iceberg, crispy mortadella, tomato, shallot, dill, mint, pistachios, house blue cheese dressing. Best of all, it’s all house made, fresh and good for you. Oscura offers a relaxing seating area along with a bar where you cak relax and enjoy your meal.

Oscura is located at 816 Manatee Ave E, Bradenton, FL 34208. They are open Tuesdays from 8 am to 2 pm, Wednesday through Saturday from 8 am to 12 am, and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm (closed Mondays). Check out their website for more info and be sure to sign up for their newsletter while you’re there!

3. AJ’s Kitchen

You’ll find AJ’s Kitchen along Cortez Road West near Pinebrook Golf Course. It’s “mostly” a breakfast and lunch place – I say “mostly” because they are occasionally open for dinner on Friday and Saturday.

AJ’s truly is a neighborhood spot. They offer an Early Rise Breakfast Special and a full breakfast menu including Eggs Benedict, Pancakes, French Toasts, Omelets, and freshly brewed coffee. For lunch, there’s a selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and a few daily lunch specials.

On our visit to AJ’s we enjoyed a huge Ham & Cheese Omelet, a Bacon Cheeseburger, and a Turkey Club Sandwich. This little restaurant puts out some good food. The welcoming feel is obvious when anyone walks in and I would bet to say that many patrons know the staff by first name.

AJ’s Kitchen is located at 3633 Cortez Rd W, Bradenton, FL 34210, and they’re open 7 days a week from 7 am to 3 pm. Check out their Facebook page for more info.
