The Lucky Ducky Race for Pace is back in town, and we can’t wait to watch the ducks splash their way all over Manatee County. During this year’s 12th annual duck derby, you can expect to see over 25,000 rubber ducks racing down the Manatee River.
The event benefits Pace Center for Girls Manatee, an alternative school for girls that helps their students achieve academic goals, develop real-world skills, and prepare for the promise of the future.
You can join in on the fun by adopting a duck (or a pack or flock) for a chance to win amazing prizes. If your duck crosses the finish line first, you’ll win a Jeep (2-year lease or $5,000) sponsored Firkins Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram. There are also other great prizes, including dinner for two at Anna Maria Oyster Bar once a week for a year! This is always a fun event, so don’t miss out!
Adopt Your Ducks Today!
Are you ready to adopt your ducks? It’s easy to do! Choose from a One Lonely Duck for $5, Quack Pack of 5 ducks for $20, or a Flock of 30 ducks for $100. You can adopt your duck by clicking the link below or stop by any of the Anna Maria Oyster Bar Restaurants, Peach’s Restaurants, Sonny’s BBQ, and Caddy’s Bradenton to adopt your ducks in person.
The Very Important Duck (V.I.D) is also back this year! For $350, you’ll receive a Corporate Duck with your logo that you can decorate and enter in the V.I.D. Race. You’ll also receive 100 ducks for the Lucky Ducky Race for Pace, which you can keep for yourself or give away to customers, family, or friends!
Pace is also still looking for team leaders and volunteers. For more information on any of these opportunities, contact Christi Haley at Christi.Haley@pacecenter.org or via phone at 941.751.4566.
Mark Your Calendars for Race Day!
Since Manatee County is beginning to see limited events again, race organizers are hoping to host a safe and fun live event on August 28th at Caddy’s in Bradenton. Due to popular demand, they will also live stream the event. Keep an eye on their event page for more details and updates.
