Slicker's Eatery Cortez Bradenton

If you haven’t visited Slicker’s Eatery in Cortez, you’re missing out! This fun, eclectic restaurant proudly does things differently.

It’s owned and operated by Bob Slicker, who has been a part of the local restaurant scene for many years. He has a deep commitment to the community and a passion for people – and this shows in everything he does!

The motto at Slicker’s Eatery is “For Goodness’ Sake,” meaning that everything they do is driven for the good of the people around them. With this in mind, they’ve been very intentional about everything from the restaurant décor to the menu selections. They’re committed to investing in their team, partnering with local charities, and seeking ways to make “our place, our communities, and ultimately the world a brighter and kinder place.”

When asked to describe their menu, Bob’s daughter Molly Slicker, who is also the restaurant’s creative director, said: “We care about people. That’s why we want to serve them the best food and drinks possible… items that fuel our bodies and excite our taste buds.

All of their menu items are “thoughtfully portioned” and Slicker’s doesn’t serve any fried food. They also pride themselves in avoiding frozen foods and using as many fresh and unique ingredients as possible.

The innovative and exciting chef-driven menu is created by Bob’s nephew Kurt Clennan, who is a California-based chef. It features exciting items like a Shrimp Gambitto pasta dish and their signature Spicy Octopus. The Petite Filet with grilled portobello mushroom, Chai Latte Crème Brulee, and Key Lime Pudding Cake are also “must-try” items. The menu features some hearty vegan and vegetarian options as well.

Slicker’s has also made a name for themselves with their incredible signature cocktail menu. We recommend trying the Fizzie McGuire, a light, refreshing gin-based cocktail with a Pop-Rocks garnish, or the Santa Teresa Smoked Old Fashioned. While making this drink, Slickers’ “spirit guides” (bartenders) light wood chips on fire to smoke the glass, then serve the drink inside.

They also have 10 beers on draft, including selections from local breweries like Motorworks and Darwin Brewing Co.

Slicker’s Eatery is located at 12012 Cortez Rd. W. Bradenton, FL 34210.

They’re open 7 days a week from 11 am to 10 pm.

Patrons can enjoy either indoor or outdoor seating and the restaurant also offers takeout.  Due to the pandemic, seating is currently limited, so making a reservation is a great idea. However, limited walk-in seating is available as well.

Follow them on Facebook so you can keep up with all the latest updates, specials, and more.

Discount Alert! In the spirit of supporting local, Slicker’s is currently offering a free draft of Darwin Brewery beer when you visit their restaurant and mention Discover Bradenton – how cool is that!?
