After a mid-season shut-down due to COVID-19, we couldn’t be more excited to learn that the Bradenton Farmer’s Market returns to downtown Bradenton on Saturday, October 3rd from 9 am until 2 pm! The market will continue each Saturday through May.
While it’s exciting to see things start returning to “normal,” according to Realize Bradenton, they are proceeding with extreme care. This includes spacing the tents out further, having hand sanitizer available, and making some modifications to a few of their regular events and activities.
To give everyone more “room to roam,” the market has expanded to include portions of Third Avenue West and Fourth Avenue West. They’re highly encouraging customers to wear face coverings or masks and requiring staff, volunteers, and vendors to wear masks except when eating or drinking.
They’ll have musicians once again, this time performing behind an acrylic protector to ensure safe interactions. Click here to see the musician line-up for the season.
Unfortunately, some special events and activities including Chef at the Market, Kids in the Kitchen, and Halloween Pet Parade have been suspended at least until the end of 2020. (However, Discover Bradenton is hosting a virtual pet costume photo contest — CLICK HERE to learn more!).
Also, this year, the farmer’s market is not pet-friendly. According to Realize Bradenton’s newsletter: “to encourage social-distancing and to reduce gathering opportunities, dog owners must leave their pets at home, unless it is a service animal.”
The weekly market will feature over 35 vendors selling locally-grown fruits, vegetables, plants, organic products, fresh seafood, and prepared foods. Visitors can also enjoy the work of local artists and craftspeople.
During the 2020-21 season, Mainly Art will be a regular weekly component of the Bradenton Farmers’ Market, rather than a once-per-month event! Just outside the City Centre Parking Garage, you’ll find dedicated booths with your favorite Mainly Art vendors on a rotating basis
