Every year for the past 10 years, our local community has come together for an epic 24-hours of giving that supports many of the amazing nonprofits in our area. This year’s Giving Challenge returns from noon to noon on April 26th and 27th.
During this online event, which is hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, you’ll have the opportunity to double your donation, thanks to a matching grant from The Patterson Foundation.
That’s right! All donations between $25 and $100 will be doubled if you make them through The Giving Challenge website during the 24-hour event.
There are over 700 nonprofit organizations participating, and the event spans across Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties.
How to Get Involved
If you can spare just $25 for your favorite nonprofit, you can make a major difference in our community! To participate, just head over to The Giving Challenge Website between noon on April 26th and noon on April 27th.
Once you’re there, click “Search for Participating Organizations,” then either scroll through all of the organizations or narrow your search by organization name, the type of cause you want to support, or location. Finally, choose your donation amount and check out – it’s that easy!
The site also has a “gift basket” so you can add each organization you want to support and check out one time. Note that although you can explore the site right now, you can’t actually process your donation until the 24-hour window opens up. So, it’s a great idea to bookmark the site now and add a reminder to your calendar.
You can also see all the great posts creatind by participating nonprofits by heading to your favorite social media channel and searching for #GivingChallenge2022 and #BeTheOne.
