July is finally here, and there are a TON of fun things to do in Bradenton this month! We kick off the weekend with a huge array of Independence Day celebrations, then continue with plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining, fitness, and more. It’s time to Get Off the Couch, Bradenton!

1. Red White and Booze Bash with Pitbull Toddler

Wednesday, July 3rd 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Joyland: 5520 14th St W, Bradenton, Florida 34207

Kick off your Independence Day celebrations right with Joyland’s Red White and Booze Bash featuring well-known rock band Pitbull Toddler. Live music goes on at 10 p.m. and there will be a DJ playing before and after. Enjoy drink specials all night and brace yourself for a rockin’ good time!

2. Independence Day Buffet & Fireworks on the Manatee River

Pier 22 is one of the best locations to catch the city’s fireworks, and they’re making the celebrations even better with a pig roast and buffet! The cost to attend the Independence Day Buffet & Fireworks is $69.95 for adults and $19.95 for kids eight and under. If you’re over 21, you can also add an open-bar wristband for an extra $30.

3. 4th of July at Andersen RacePark

Satisfy your need for speed and try something different this Independence Day by celebrating at Anderson RacePark. The park will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and they’re offering N-35 Kart sessions for just $17.76!

4. Independence Day at Peggy’s Coral

What better way to spend your Independence day that at everybody’s favorite biker bar! Peggy’s Coral is throwing an Independence Day Celebration featuring Live Music by J Allen, a “patriotic contest” with prizes for the best-dressed bike and person, and free hot dogs!

5. 4 Days of July 4! Independence Day Celebration

Caddy’s on the Pointe is taking advantage of their gorgeous location with a four-day 4th of July celebration! It’s the perfect spot to watch the fireworks on Thursday night while enjoying music by American rock band The Torpedoes.

On Friday the 5th starting at 6 p.m., enjoy southern rock and blues with The Paul Anthony Band. Saturday the 6th features entertainment from the high-energy Chello Hollyday Band starting at 6 p.m. Then, wrap up the weekend on Sunday at 2 p.m. with acoustical performer Daniel Rodriguez.

6. 4th of July Cause for Paws

If you want to do something different this year and really make a difference in the lives of our furry friend, consider booking yourself a spot at the Manatee County Humane Society’s July 4th Shelter Angels event. While the fireworks are going off, many of the shelter dogs start to panic. Join the Humane Society staff in comforting the animals by playing an instrument, singing, or reading them a book.

7. Wacky Mega Hot Dog Fest

If you’re feeling adventurous this 4th of July weekend, stop by Astro Skate to enjoy all-you-can-eat hot dogs with a crazy topping bar at their Wacky Mega Hot Dog Fest. Have you ever had hot dogs topped with chocolate syrup or strawberries? Now is your chance! The cost is just $6 (not including skate rental) so grab the kids and check it out!

8. Connect Bradenton: A New Gallery, a New Beginning

On Friday the 5th, Connect Bradenton is turning their space into an art gallery featuring artwork from Big Bolt Media. The event, called A New Gallery, A New Beginning, will feature a collective of amateur and professional adventure photographic prints — mostly storms and sunsets — some of which will be available for purchase. Stop by and check out the artwork and enjoy a snack and drink provided by Connect Bradenton’s neighbors, Tellers.

9. July Artwalk Weekend

The monthly Artwalk Weekend at the Village of the Arts is always a great time, and this month, the theme is “Mermaids!” Stroll through the village exploring new studios and galleries, specialty shops, and healing arts while enjoying live music and food from some of the village’s amazing restaurants.

10. Pride Night w/ the Bradenton Marauders

Join the Bradenton Marauders for a very special Pride Night on Saturday the 6th. 17. Bradentucky Bombers vs. Gold Coast Derby Girls

Come out and support our own Bradentucky Bombers roller derby team as they take on the Gold Coast Derby Girls. The bout is held at the Ellenton Ice & Sports Complex, and tickets are available at the complex, at Jerk Dog Records (1119 12th St. West, Bradenton) or from your favorite roller derby girl. There are beer stands inside the rink (cash only!) and plenty of bleacher seating. If you want a great view, bring a chair for trackside seating.

Hop on Siesta Key Trolleys and head out to participating bars including The Seafood Shack, The Sandbar,  Gulf Drive Cafe – Kokonut Hut, and The Swordfish Grill & Tiki Bar.
