LIVE FIERY FOLIAGE with Anne Abgott

This LIVE Workshop will be held at The Carriage House Studio at Sarasota’s historic Villa Serena Inn.

I have always been fascinated by the colorful foliage here in Florida where I live. This plant jazzes up many a garden with its hot pinks and reds. I will not completely finish this painting in the class, but you will learn all the techniques, tips, secrets and details that you’ll need to finish this painting on your own. And don’t forget that I’m just an email away if you ever have questions or just need some additional help.

You will receive a photo and supply list well in advance of the workshop. Please make a black and white copy of the photo for your tracing and as a reference for your values. Please come to the class with your drawing all done on watercolor paper at a size of your choice. I will be working 1/4 sheet on 300lb Arches Cold Press Natural.

Have all your paints handy along with round and flat brushes.
A scrubber brush will be very important .
There will be no masking . We can paint around the whites and lift out the shine with the scrubber .

Red Brown by Mission available on Amazon or Jackson’s art. If you are unable to find it, we will work with some of the pigments in the ESSENTIAL list.

Also, just for reference, I have a created a Master Supply List, organized by manufacturer, that lists everything in my palette and toolbox. Several students have requested an exhaustive list of all the pigments and supplies that I use for my various workshops. The supply list above is specific to this workshop — you will receive a PDF version of this list by email prior to the workshop. You will also receive my Master Supply List for your reference in the future.

This workshop is 5 hours in length from 10am to 3pm Eastern USA Time. There will be a lunch break at noon.

The Carriage House Studio provides bottled water, multiple coffee & cocoa selections, and a selection of snack bars to keep your energy up. Don’t forget to bring a salad, sandwich, or nosh of your choice for the lunch break.
