Service Description Lynn is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP As artists we strive to be adept at using light, color and composition to evoke the viewer’s emotions and stir their feelings in an ineluctable and delightful way. In this workshop, we’ll work with the magical light of the tropics — a light that is strong, clear, crisp, and clean. On day one of this workshop you will create a bold, luminous floral composition using light, transparencies, and layered foliage. You’ll learn to layer negative space for richness and depth, capturing the beauty of light on an amaryllis. You will not be creating a simple flower painting —with Lynn’s guidance, techniques, and expertise you will create a true work of art! On day two of the workshop, Lynn will expand these concepts to teach you to how to use your brushes, pigments and innate creativity to confidently design with light, shadow, and glow to create dynamic, exciting paintings. This workshop is suitable for all levels with watercolor experience. A detailed supply list will be sent to you in advance of the workshop. Lynn provides handouts, reference materials, tracings (for those who choose to use them), and lots of personal attention in her workshop. No advanced preparation is needed. The Carriage House Studio provides beverages, bottled water, and snack bars, but you will need to bring a a sack lunch for the noon break. Look for Lynn’s instructional articles in “The Artist’s Magazine” and “Watercolor Artist”. A sought after instructor and juror, Lynn teaches to sold out workshops and judges exhibits nationally.
