Whether you want to take the whole family on an adventure, have some fun with your furry friend, or shop ’till you drop, you’ll find the perfect activity happening right in your backyard. 1. Beach N Food Truck Festival

Saturday, May 1st from 10 am to 8 pm

Want to get out and enjoy a taste of island life? Head on out to the 5th annual Beach ‘N Food Truck Festival at Holmes Beach City Field on Anna Maria Island. This is one of the island’s biggest events of the year! It’s free to attend and there will be tons of food trucks, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and more.

There’s also a classic car show scheduled from 1 to 3 pm. The Privateers will be offering children’s activities and there will be beer and wine for the adults. Proceeds help benefit the Anna Maria Island Scholarship fund, so come on out and join in on the fun!


2. Customer Appreciation Day at Rustic Flamingo

Saturday, May 1st from 1 pm to 3 pm

The Rustic Flamingo DIY Studio is hosting a fun Customer Appreciation Day that you won’t want to miss! They’ll be offering free projects, snacks, and drinks, so come down and say hello!

This unique studio provides training and jobs for uniquely-abled people, so every time you visit, you’re supporting their wonderful cause!


3. Sunday Brunch at Mean Dean’s Local Kitchen

If you’re looking for one of the best brunches in Bradenton, look no further than Mean Dean’s Local Kitchen!

Do you love being the smartest person in the room? Check out Thursday Night Trivia at Table Talk SRQ! It costs just $3 to play and there are cash prizes for the first and second place winners!

The game is open to teams ranging from one to eight people. Your $3 also gives you unlimited game play while you’re there. They have a great menu plus beer and wine, and there’s plenty of room for social distancing.


5. Live Music at Birdrock Taco Shack

Kick off Cinco De Mayo at Birdrock Taco Shack with Applebutter Express and great food and drink specials. The fun starts on Wednesday, May 5th at 5:30 pm.

6. Synergy Medical Open House

Synergy Medical Center is hosting a fun and informative seminar and open house. There will be a speaker at 7 pm, raffles at 7:30 pm, Icecream sandwiches from Rise Coffee Co. & Nye’s Cream Sandwiches, a BBQ food truck, and blood mobile.

Make sure you stick around for the grand prize drawing, because they’re giving away a free pellet treatment. There will also be exclusive specials for bioidentical hormone pellet therapy, weight loss, and more.


7. Yoga 101: Absolute Beginner Series

9. Kid’s Fishing Tournament

Gather up the kids and head out to the 34th Annual Jerry Hill Memorial fishing tournament! This fun, FREE catch-and-release tournament will feature a 2-hour fishing spree followed by lunch and an awards ceremony with prizes.

13. Starlight Movie: Matilda

Gather up the kids and head out for a truly unique experience — an outdoor movie at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. This month, they’re showing Matilda – a fun family film about a child and her adventures. This movie is sure to tickle the funny bones of children (and those who are still kids at heart).

This FREE event is sponsored by Bradenton Kiwanis. The  Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County will also be there to distribute FREE books for the children in attendance and give parents some great tips on encouraging family and summer reading.


14. Space Day at The Bishop

The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is excited to announce their special LIVE star talk at the planetarium. There will also be a scavenger hunt throughout the Museum, a crater-making experiment, and fun space-related activities in the Mosaic Backyard Universe.

You’ll even be able to talk to an expert from Celestron about your telescope questions! Best of all, everything is included with admission!


15. Yappy Hour at Motorworks Brewing

Grab your furry friend and head over to Motorworks Brewing for their monthly Yappy Hour event. This fun event is held on the third Sunday of every month in the brewery’s 16,000 square-foot artificially-turfed beer garden.

There will be raffle items and silent auctions with proceeds benefiting the featured rescue. You can also enjoy drink specials and tasty eats from local food trucks while browsing unique goods from area vendors.


16. Rare Fruit Tree Sale

The Manatee Rare Fruit Council’s annual Rare Fruit Tree sale has been moved to a new outdoor location this year! There will be over 20 different vendors there selling tons of rare fruit trees, herbs, vines, and more.

There’s plenty of free parking and the vendors are happy to give free advice to help you care for your new purchases.


17. Brookdale Flea Market

19. Back the Blue & New Spirit Launch

You definitely won’t want to miss the upcoming Back the Blue event at Loaded Cannon Distillery! This FREE, all-ages event will be held inside the Gatewood Corporate Complex in front of Loaded Cannon Distillery.  (Donations are encouraged if able)

There will be live music, food trucks, vendors, raffle items, hotel giveaways, mobile ax throwing, rock climbing wall, samples from local breweries, and, of course, free drink samples from Loaded Cannon.


20. Summer Nights Car, Truck & Bike Show

Head out to the Oneco Farmer’s Market for an all-day, family-friendly event. There will be food trucks, a Kids Zone, cool cars, and live performances.
