Anna Maria Island Historical Museum

The Anna Maria Island Historical Society and Museum was established in 1990 to collect, research, preserve and exhibit materials and artifacts relating to the history of all three cities making up Anna Maria Island. From the museum, city jail, Belle Haven Cottage and Nature Park, the museum is an excellent collection of exhibits that both residents and visitors will find interesting and engaging.

Kids can take part in our Scavenger Hunt that takes place all throughout the museum. Stop by the City Jail, the second most popular attraction on Anna Maria, tour the Belle Haven Cottage to see how island folks lived back in the day or relax among native island foliage and trees in our nature park right on the water. Pick up a memento from our gift shop. Our traveling educational program helps to preserve the heritage of our beautiful seven-mile jewel. Historical Society members visit churches and civic organizations to make the history of the Island come alive for students, residents, and visitors from all walks of life. We rely on donations and memberships to keep the museum free to the public.

Finally a united group that will be the host our local Scottish Highland Games!! Many of us are looking forward to the inaugural event that will be held on Saturday Feb 10th at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto FL. A much larger venue than the Sarasota Fairgrounds!! I understand there will be a pipe band competition and a challenge between the Manatee County Sheriff's office and the EMT's in the actual Highland Games competition. See you in February!!

Once a PACE girl, always a PACE girl. Being part of PACE Center for Girls' first graduating class was transformative. PACE provided unwavering support during challenging times, boosting my confidence and helping me discover my true potential. The staff's personalized attention and encouragement were instrumental in overcoming obstacles and achieving academic success. PACE is more than an institution; it's a caring community that goes beyond academics. Thank you, PACE Center for Girls, for making a profound difference in my life.
