This week, we were excited to have a chance to catch up with Sally Ullman, owner of Sally Ullman Photography. Here’s what she had to say…

Can you tell us a little bit about your business?

I transform special moments into cherished memories, offering professional photography in studio or at your location.

My specialties include business headshots, branding, real estate, family & children portraits, engagement & small weddings, beach, graduation, maternity & newborn, lifestyle, product, food & pets.

When did you start your business, and what inspired you to launch it?

Sally Ullman Photography launched in 1992 in Pennsylvania. Prior to starting my own business, I had been a commercial professional photographer for many years, working in publishing for many national magazines. I made the move when I realized I wanted my own business studio.

Why do you love what you do? What is it about your business that makes you so passionate?

I absolutely love photography! I can photograph anything and have traveled extensively on assignments throughout the USA. With photography, I can combine my painting background with my profession and express my creativity!

Why did you choose Bradenton for your business location?

I chose this area because of its beauty and love of the Arts! I work with clients in Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Longboat, and Siesta Key as well as surrounding areas. As a professional photographer, I love incorporating local landscapes into the background.

What’s your favorite thing about living in and/or having a business in Bradenton?

I love the consistent climate that allows me to incorporate my subjects with the environment almost any day of the year.

What’s one interesting fact you want people to know about your business and/or industry?

Photography is the art form every family needs to instill the memories that last a lifetime!
It’s important to preserve family memories and use photography to decorate our homes.

What’s your favorite way to #SupportLocal?

I try to shop locally for props and for myself as a resident.
Shopping local increases your chance of getting unique and quality items that reflect where you live.
We are sure to shop in downtown Sarasota and Bradenton and love visiting the Village of the Arts and local historical areas.

When you’re not working, what’s your favorite thing to do?

When I am not working, I am researching where I will travel to next!
In the last year, I have traveled to Galapagos and to Kenya and Tanzania. I have many wonderful photographs to share from my travel adventures!
