Foundation for Dreams, Inc.

Foundation for Dreams, through our signature Dream Oaks Camp program, strives to create a place where children can recognize one another as individuals, not by their disabilities. Our overall vision is that all individuals with special needs have every opportunity to learn and grow, leading to more productive behaviors, meaningful relationships, and a more comprehensive profound skill set. Foundation for Dreams is the only organization in Southwest Florida that provides year-round weekend and summer residential camp sessions for all children with varying ability levels and chronic and/or terminal medical conditions.

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Foundation for Dreams is to celebrate the abilities and develop the comprehensive skillset of children with special needs and chronic illnesses ages 7-17 by collaborating with families to provide individualized result-based goals and family support in a camp environment.

Together, our Dream Oaks Camp team provides children with special needs exposure to quality results-based programming that allows them to engage in adaptive activities, learn new life skills and develop productive behaviors. Children learn to recognize others as individuals, not by their disabilities. As the child attends our program, staff and parents collaborate to identify 2-targeted goals for the child to progress towards while at camp. By focusing on each child’s strengths and abilities, our team integrates these goals and modifies research-based strategies for each activity to include the participation of every child regardless of physical, medical or emotional challenges.
