The Villa Serena Inn prides itself as a place where little seems to have changed in a world where change itself is constant. On September 29, 2000, it was listed in The National Register of Historic Places. The Mediterranean Revival styled architecture resembles a 16th Century Venetian Palace. Architect Clare Hosmer designed the inn for Clarke Douglas Williams, a New York stockbroker. The Villa Serena was once called the Italian palace with some of Florida’s most elaborate furnishings from the era. The Villa Serena Inn’s claim to fame is all of the sports celebrities who have stayed here over the years. The penthouse hosted such American legends as Baseball Great Babe Ruth, and Champion golfer Bobby Jones. Now, almost a century later, the Villa Serena Inn continues the tradition of providing gracious hospitality and quiet refinement for its clientele. The Carriage House Studio, located at Villa Serena Inn, offers art workshops and hosts events. Take a look at our Happenings Page on our website to see our upcoming classes/events.
