Have you ever wondered what to do with your old iPads, broken cell phones, laptops, computers, and other electronics? After all, they often contain sensitive data as well as batteries that don’t belong in the landfill. Well, you’re in luck! This Earth Day (Thursday, April 22nd) SouthTech is partnering with the Bradenton Area EDC to host an electronics recycling event in Bradenton.
The event is called “The Data Dump”, and it will be held in the Manatee Technical College Main Campus parking lot, located at 6305 State Road 70 East, Bradenton FL 34203 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
This will be the first time Bradenton will host such an event, as it has been previously held in Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch. Lauren Selle, Marketing Coordinator at SouthTech says the company is excited to expand its event to the Bradenton area since it will allow them to reach even more people.
During the event, they’ll have single-serve snacks and drinks as well as tents to relax under while you wait for your materials to be recycled. You can also rest assured that the team will be following the standard health protocols and will be wearing masks.
Items they’ll accept include desk phones, mobile phones, monitors, printers, copiers, computers, and keyboards. Please do not bring old televisions, as they’re not able to recycle these. To keep up with any updates prior to the event, consider following SouthTech on Facebook.
We hope you decide to stop by this fun event and recycle some of your electronics. It’s a small thing, but it can have a positive impact on the world around us! This year, let’s make Earth Day a memorable one — it’s something worth celebrating!
