This month’s theme for the Village of the Arts’ Monthly Art Walk — “Hot Summer, Cool Art” – -couldn’t be more appropriate! Talk a walk down to the village on Friday night or Saturday afternoon to check out the great studios, unique galleries, and specialty shops. You’ll also love the live music and great options for grabbing a quick snack or a full meal.
3. Adopt-a-Palooza

The 5th annual Adopt-a-Palooza is the area’s largest adoption event and pet expo. Here you’ll find over 100 adoptable puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats as well as plenty of retail vendors, information booths, demonstrations, and an auction and silent raffle. All proceeds from the event will go to the Friends of Manatee County Animal Services (FoMCAS).
4. Hotcakes & Classics Free Car Show
Saturday, August 3rd 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Whether you have your own classic car or you love checking them out, you won’t want to miss the Hotcakes & Classics FREE Car Show. Not only will you get to see tons of really cool cars, but the hosts and Skyway Classics are also providing a delicious hotcake breakfast. That’s what we call a win-win! Can’t make it this month, don’t worry, the car show happens on the first Saturday of every month.
5. Team Trivia at Truman’s Tap and Grill

8. The Manatee Players Present: West Side Story

15. 10-Week Trivia Tournament at RJ Gators

If you love trivia and are looking for something to do every Monday night, you’re in luck! The next 10-week trivia tournament at RJ Gator’s hosted by Steve-O Entertainment starts on Monday, August 12th! Teams can compete each week while also banking their points for the $200 grand prize! Want to just stop in for a single night? No problem, you can do that too and compete for the smaller weekly prizes.

17. Women’s Self Defense Workshop

Make sure you’re ready for whatever life throws at you by signing up for a 90-minute Women’s Self-Defense Workshop hosted by Matt “Judo” Murphy (Black Belt in Judo and Jiujitsu) and Erin Colleen Geraghty (Black Belt in Karate, Yoga Therapist).

On Saturday the 17th, they’re hosting a unique evening of singing and storytelling with Sarasota indie folk singer/songwriter Lesa Silvermore and her dear friend, musician Enforme. 22. Yoga with Tigers

While it is a little ways from Bradenton, it’s hard to think of anything more worth the drive than Yoga with Tigers at Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary. Join Erika Cain from Pineapple Yoga Studio for a unique experience where you’ll practice nearby big cats held safely in their enclosures and enjoy the sounds of nature in the background.
The cost is $40 and includes the yoga class, light refreshments, and a single-day pass to return to the Sanctuary during normal hours. This event does sell out, so you’ll want to get your tickets right away. You can purchase them here.
23. Hot Dog Eating Contest

24. Paws & Meditate

Spend an hour twisting and stretching with some of the adorable, adoptable kitties at the Humane Society of Manatee’s Paws & Meditate event. This hour-long yoga class is led by instructor Diana Hughes and sponsored by Paws Up Apparel. You bring your mat, they have the cats!
