There was a time when a haircut and a shave was truly an experience. A trip to the barbershop meant a chance to chill out, enjoy a bit of (manly) pampering, and spend some time “shooting the shit” with the guys. Today, this tradition has started to fade, with many men simply stopping into a unisex chain salon and walking out with a mediocre haircut.
It’s time to stop doing that! Oxford Barber Shop, located in Downtown Bradenton, is bringing back the traditional barbershop experience with a modern twist. The moment you walk in, you’ll notice the cool vibe, super-friendly barbers, and unique atmosphere.
Oxford’s staff – Rico, Darnell, and Brandy are all master barbers and/or licensed cosmetologists. They formerly worked together in Lakewood Ranch before branching out to this new venture.
Some of the services you can enjoy while you’re there include:
- Men’s hair cuts, bald fade, and buzz cuts
- Straight razor shave
- Beard trims
- Nose, ear, and eyebrow waxing
While the primary focus is on men’s grooming services, they also offer kid’s cuts, women’s cuts, and blow-outs. Oxford Barbershop offers a relaxing, spa-like experience with add-ons like tea tree treatments, hot towels, and custom oils.
While you’re there, you can also enjoy a complimentary adult beverage from the cooler, which is well-stocked with cans of PBR, spiked seltzer, Bud Lights, and more. They also carry exclusive hair care and shaving products that are only available at the shop and are specially formulated to help you maintain your fresh new look.
Oxford Barbershop opened its doors late last year and celebrated its grand opening this month. They’re definitely doing something right because they’ve already created a loyal following of happy customers. In fact, they’ve served almost 1,000 people in the past six months!
If you’re ready to level up your grooming experience, you can book an appointment online or just stop in – walk-ins are always welcome!
They’re located at 1207 3rd Ave W. in downtown Bradenton and are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm. You can also follow them on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with all the cool stuff going on.
When you stop by (and we hope you will!) be sure to tell them you heard about it on Discover Bradenton.
