We were excited to have a chance to catch up with Steve Milligan owner of Loaded Cannon Distillery in Bradenton. Here’s what he had to say…
Can you tell us a little bit about your business?
We are a local craft distillery producing Bourbon, Whiskeys, Vodka, Rum and Gin. We have won several awards for our products and the distillery.
We are pirate-themed and pride ourselves in our tasting room where no one is a stranger. Our tasting room is also available for group events.
When did you start your business, and what inspired you to launch it?
We opened our doors in 2019. I am a retired Chemical Engineer and this is the perfect playground. I love what I do!
Why do you love what you do? What is it about your business that makes you so passionate?
The best part is meeting people and giving them something unique! I give tours and work hard to educate the customers on why we are special.
Why did you choose Bradenton for your business location?
It’s a great place to live and work! People from everywhere come here.
What’s your favorite thing about living in and/or having a business in Bradenton?

What’s one interesting fact you want people to know about your business and/or industry?
That we are right here in Bradenton and we make all our products here. It has been difficult to let people know we are so close. Every day we have customers say they never knew we were here.
What’s your favorite way to #SupportLocal?
Buy local! In the spirits world, the distribution is controlled by the large distributors. The small local craft distilleries are seldom given the chance at the retail level. I say, give us a chance, and let us show you how we can adapt to your liking and produce unique top shelf products.
When you’re not working, what’s your favorite thing to do?
Go out on the boat or travel.
