Vampire Penguin & Uncle Nick’s Bagels – Real NY Style Bagels + Delicious Sweet Treats

Since it opened in 2017, Uncle Nick’s NY Style Deli & Bagels has earned a reputation for having some of the best bagels in Bradenton, offering over 15 different kinds of bagels every day.

The business opened when two New Yorkers couldn’t find bagels and bread that lived up to their standards and liking. It was named after their Uncle “Nick” who was also a deli owner in New York. Since then, the new owner, Craig, has taken their concept and expanded it to include donuts, cakes, Junior’s Original New York Cheesecake, and now a new shaved snow dessert bar That’s how the Vampire Penguin was born.

Shaved snow is a finer, flakier version of shaved ice that is infused with flavors before being flash-frozen. Shaved snow, or “snow fluff” as is also known, is actually a Japanese dessert dating back to the Seventh Century A.D. Its original form consists of condensed milk, mochi (rice-based), and sweetened red beans.

This ancient Japanese dessert is known as Kakigôri. It was reserved for the very top ranks of society because of the difficulty of collecting and freezing the water back in those times. Today, Vampire Penguin has taken all the work out of the process. They offer 16 different flavor combinations, all with fewer calories than traditional ice cream. You can also make your own snow “fluff” combinations.

My first two selections were Polar Affogato and Strawberry Cheesecake. The Polar Affogato is similar to the original coffee treat that it’s named after. The original affogato is made with vanilla ice cream, espresso coffee, and grated dark chocolate. Vampire Penguin’s version is even better with coffee and vanilla snow, cocoa powder, brownie bites, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup.

The Strawberry Cheesecake is made with strawberry and vanilla snow, crushed graham crackers, fresh strawberries, white chocolate sauce, condensed milk drizzle, and strawberry sauce with cheesecake bites on the side. 😍

Other selections include S’moreos; Sweet Tooth (with cotton candy snow); Almond Joy; Piña Colada; Tuxedo (with chocolate, almonds, and marshmallow); and Mint Chocolate just to mention a few.

There’s another treat that Vampire Penguin is really good at and it’s one of my favorites. I’m talking about D-O-N-U-T-S. Chocolate Frosted, Peanut Butter & Jelly, and Apple Fritters are some of the varieties made fresh every day.

Other desserts offered are cupcakes, brownies, rainbow cookies, and B/W cookies. The contents of their baked goods case varies daily, so you’re always in for a surprise.

I suggest making a real impression at your next event, office meeting, school function, or any other occasion by pre-ordering a selection of these delicious treats.

Uncle Nick’s Deli Has Breakfast & Lunch Plus Real NY Style Bagels

I’ve been going to Uncle Nick’s for a few years now. My first experience was when I heard about their burgers. Incredible burgers at a NY York Deli? That’s right. They use a triple meat patty with ground chuck, short rib, and brisket for the BYOB Burger, BBQ Burger, and BLT Burger.

I’ve also enjoyed a Huckabuck Sandwich for lunch. It’s made with grilled pastrami and corned beef with melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing on toasted marble rye bread.

Another favorite is Uncle Nick’s delicious Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Bagel – I’ve also walked away with a few slices of Junior’s New York Cheesecake.

Uncle Nick’s always offers a breakfast menu that includes a Western Omelet, Three Cheese Omelet, and a Bacon, Cheddar, and Tomato Omelet.

They have over fifteen (15) kinds of bagels daily and many breakfast sandwiches including the Taylor, Egg & Cheese, the Torpedo, and the Jersey Jet breakfast sandwich.

You will always find many, many options for breakfast and lunch at Uncle Nick’s, as well as fast service by a friendly staff. Don’t forget the donuts!
