"PAPER MACHE" for Kids with Karen Stuart

Start your children’s holiday season on a fun and happy note by indulging their creativity in this novel, simple, and rewarding activity! Be a co-creator with your children, your grandchildren, your nieces and nephews, or even your friend’s children.

Each and every participant will be given paper-wrapped wire forms from which they can create any animal shape that dwells in their imagination. Young children find complete joy in making a simple horse or dog.

Older children frequently pad the wires with more and more crumpled paper to create something totally unique — imagine dragons! Karen’s students always express feelings of satisfaction, achievement, and simple, pure enjoyment. This class is guaranteed to be fun for all. Every child of any age leaves with a creation of their own making. Depending on the complexity and breadth of your creativity, you may be taking home a lovable artwork that is perhaps not entirely dry! (Although we do provide hair dryers to help the more enthusiastic paper mache builders!) Newspaper, tissue paper, and some paints will be provided. Paper mache can be messy, so it’s a good idea to bring an apron for everyone.

About the Artist: Karen Stuart is a well-known Gulf Coast painter. Karen taught paper mache in the public schools of Virginia Beach, VA before her move to Florida several years ago. Here in Florida, Karen is very active and well regarded in the local arts community. We are pleased that Karen is participating in this season’s Villa Serena Carriage House Arts schedule.

NOTE: Pricing is $35 per child. For example, if an adult brings two children to this class, the class price will be $70.
