Wolf-Face bring a special, one-night-only cover show to Oscura in Bradenton, Florida. Saturday, March 30, the St. Pete pack of werewolf-punks will perform an entire set of REFUSED covers, joined by Gainesville’s You Vandal performing as Taking Back Sunday, and locals Suburban Wasteland playing various punk and emo covers.
Swedish hardcore punk band Refused is widely regarded as one of the pioneering bands in the hardcore punk and post-hardcore genres. They gained prominence with their third studio album, “The Shape of Punk to Come,” released in 1998. This album is often considered a landmark in hardcore punk and post-hardcore music, blending elements of punk, hardcore, electronica, and experimental rock. Despite their growing success, Refused disbanded shortly after the release of “The Shape of Punk to Come.” The breakup only added to the album’s mystique, and over the years, it gained a cult following.
Taking Back Sunday likely still own the hearts of an entire generation of emo punks. They played a significant role in shaping the emo and alternative rock landscape, gaining prominence with their debut album, “Tell All Your Friends,” released in 2002. The album included popular tracks like “Cute Without the ‘E’ (Cut from the Team)” and “You’re So Last Summer.”
