Join Teresa Kirk as she guides you in exploring several ways to take your painting from Ordinary to Extraordinary. Learn to borrow from the best, to play with ideas and imagination, and to allow some of the the greatest artists of history to inspire you and to fuel your creativity.

Teresa offers unique exercises that allow you to think out of the box — you will soon be planning and creating a unique painting that, in a single joyful instant of inspiration, crystalizes in your imagination.

One technique you’ll learn is using collage to add elements of surprise to your work — a simple collage element adds interest and engagement that you may not have considered in your traditional approach.

Each day you will undertake an exercise which allows you to work with new ideas and techniques that push your painting to fresh new levels of accomplishment. As for subject matter, anything goes: landscapes, still life, figurative work, and abstract. This workshop will engage your intuitive creativity. We will have daily demos, group discussions, and we will end each day with constructive critiques.

This workshop is designed for Intermediate Level artists.

* Please note that this is a THREE DAY WORKSHOP that runs from 9am to 4pm with a one hour lunch break. Students are responsible for bringing their own supplies and a brown bag or box lunch. A supply list is shown below, but you will also receive an emailed version of the list well before the scheduled workshop dates.

The Carriage House Studio at Villa Serena Inn provides bottled water, assorted coffees, cocoa, and snack bars.

Watercolor Pencils, Crayons
Watercolor Paper
Watercolor paints- your normal colors
A basic Gouache Kit: Holbein or Winsor Newton make basic kits with Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, White & Black.
Masking Tape
Brushes
Water Container
Magazines
Old Paintings with large shapes or ho hum
Matte Medium or Glue
Sketch Book
L’s and/or mats used for cropping & judging your paintings
Your inner child that has a desire to play 😊
