As part of the celebration of our 75th Anniversary and in celebration of our Year of Light, we’re shedding light on the health of our local ecosystems and bringing the community together in support of restored waterways for manatees and more during March’s think + drink / science program.
During “Taking Care of Sarasota Bay: Current Conditions and Actions for a Healthier Future,” The Bishop welcomes Dr. Dave Tomasko, Executive Director of the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program, to share the latest findings on the health of Sarasota Bay and what needs to be done to restore it to a healthier condition. He’ll also discuss the projects and programs planned to reach the goal of a healthier Sarasota Bay.
Dr. Tomasko has more than 30 years of experience in water quality assessments and developing science-based natural resource plans in the Gulf of Mexico and in international locales.
