Ken Hobson is an award winning American Watercolorist and full time painter and workshop
instructor. He spent 30 years as an Illustrator working with advertising agencies & design firms. He is a graduate of Kendall College of Art, Grand Rapids, MI. For the past 15 years, Ken has been an in-studio instructor and a popular, sought-after workshop instructor with over 120 workshops to date. Ken has also exhibited in over 25 shows.
Ken is noted for his dramatic use of color and composition to produce stunning watercolor images. In this THREE-DAY WORKSHOP you will complete two to three paintings under Ken’s easy-going, yet professional and experienced tutelage.
Students will learn how to use sharp contrasts and juicy, rich pigment. This will be a fun exercise using rich washes of color. Reference works will be provided. Ken will discuss principles & concepts during demos. He will do several demos as well as devoting time to each student in plenty of one-on-one guidance in this fun, encouraging, content-rich class.
The workshop is suitable for intermediate to advanced watercolor artists. Whether your style is tightly controlled watercolor paintings, relaxed atmospheric images, or whimsical visuals with bold colors and dramatic composition, Ken is an expert at helping students to realize their artistic goals.
Students are responsible for their own supplies. A supply list and detailed venue information is sent to students in a detailed email a week or 10 days before the workshop.
