Chris MacCormack is a retired teacher who likes to stay busy, connected and enjoys teaching. During the pandemic she sold succulents at Carport Sales and still has some if you need them. Now she is eager for face-to-face classes in both art for adults and reading, math and art for children. For the past two years she managed a large team of volunteer teachers teaching Afghan refugees here in Bradenton. It was so rewarding to see children master math concepts that she is now ready to offer American young students the same methods. Chris uses real objects such as blocks, rods, and pizza slices, plus ample personal attention to help them overcome hurdles to mastering math concepts. Chris is also willing to discuss possibilities for home school education only in West Bradenton. Please see the Summer Boost schedule for Math classes this summer below. Singapore Math has had great success worldwide with its approach for helping children understand the concepts of math instead of memorizing rules and facts. Chris will use this textbook series and all the manipulatives in her small group Math Labs for grades 3-6. She wants children to enjoy learning and feel successful. Private tutoring at your W. Bradenton home is available but Chris would prefer to form small group classes at her home or yours for 2-4 students at a similar level to add to the fun and greatly reduce the cost. Parents are welcome to stay or run errands. Unfortunately, I am not interested in long commutes. Private hour $25 ; Small group $120 for 8 weeks ( 1 hr per week) We can get started with a free consultation and skills assessment. Hope to hear from you soon. Contact me at mytutornana@gmail.com Chris MacCormack has a BA in science education and an MA in Spanish and English Teaching. Thank you Nancy, Your children are a pleasure to work with. Chris
My grandson age 11 is having problems with math and reading. He sees Chris on Saturdays at 9 am for 90 minutes. In a month I see a great change in knowledge and attitude I recommend that anyone who has a child in his age bracket try to use her services. Ray M. .
