This young Bradenton resident, who played softball for both Inspiration Academy and with the Palma Sola Softball League, is now in the hospital fighting for her life.
She was recently diagnosed with Esthesioneuroblastoma, a cancerous tumor that is rarely found in children. According to Aubrien’s father, Mariano Jimenez, the cancer is already at stage four and is beginning to spread.
Despite all of this, Aubrien is a strong girl as she stands firm in her faith. She loves God, her family, and softball.
Aubrien has been in the ICU at the All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. However, she can’t get the full treatment she needs there. In fact, there are only three hospitals in the entire country that specialize in the pediatric version of this disease. Her family is partnering with Texas Children’s Hospital. However, their health insurance does not include out-of-state treatment.
Aubrien is a big sister to her 7-year-old sister and 5-year-old brother and should be entering her freshman year of High School. This sweet girl – and her family – need our help.
Texas Children’s Hospital requires 40% of the estimated cost upfront. Aubrien will also need 6-7 consistent weeks of radiation, 5 days a week, for 20–30-minute each day.
Want to Help? Here’s How!
There are currently several ways to help Aubrien and her family in this fight.
This Saturday, July 31st, you can visit RJ Gators of Bradenton for the #TheLightOfAubrien Benefit. The event will be held from 11 am to 6 pm at 6100 Cortez Rd W, Bradenton. It will include a blind draw cornhole tournament (registration begins at 11 am, tournament starts at noon), a silent auction, and live entertainment by Rye Road. Carousels Ice Cream will also be there and there will be many food and drink specials. All proceeds from the event will go directly to Aubrien’s family to support the cost of her treatment.
