Tidewell Hospice is in need of community members to help in several capacities.
First, we have many individuals who are residing in residential facilities receiving few visitors and little interaction. Our volunteers bring joy to those who are bedbound and isolated through conversation, reading, creating legacy projects/scrapbooks, and through simple presence.
Secondly, we serve individuals who live alone with a caregiver. Many of these caregivers get no relief. Our volunteers stay with their loved ones while they run an errand, see a movie, play a game of golf, or take a short time for much-needed self-care.
We provide full training to volunteers willing to take on this incredibly meaningful service to those in our community.
Ongoing- new requests for services are received every day. Some are set times, some are flexible and volunteers can choose what works best for them.
